The Changing Town

I have changed the town a lot since I last posted.
- An overview of the town

I also have 4 more road plates, although these ones aren't very compatible with my other ones.
The town has changed a lot since i last posted; it now includes less buildings, but the buildings that remain are much larger.

- One view of the roads. The bin of yellow stuff is corn.
- The cafe with a food delivery service vehicle on top
- Green Grocer
- The biggest building in the town. Despite its civilian appearance, it is mafia headquarters.
- The interior of the cafe'.
- The large mortar turret. It actually turns and fires. Maybe I'll blog about it sometime...

- The farm
- The Back of Green Grocer
- Omni's Repair shop
- The Phoenix General Store

4-21 EDIT:

The town has changed a LOT since then. the cafe is soon to be taken apart; Green Grocer has been turned into a bank (see an above post); The mortar turret is gone; the farm has been compacted into less than 32x32 studs; the repair shop has been converted into a factory; the general store is gone too. the mafia headquarters has been re-built into a motel.

New Troop transport: the XLN-273!

This new model I've built took me about 4 days to make, mostly because I wasn't satisfied by the way the cockpit and the engines looked. At first I had 2 engines on struts coming out of the back. But they just didn't look very well made, and kept falling off. Eventually I decided to change it to be more like the engines on the Jedi shuttle in the beginning of Star Wars: Episode 1.
As for changing the cockpit, it used to be built literally on the troop hold. I changed it by adding another platform to the front and placing the cockpit on that. The center of the ship houses the troop hold and weapons rack. Behind to cockpit is the communication array and all purpose sensor station.-the photo above has an exploded view. It is not missing its wall. The cockpit itself has more than enough controls for any function. It has a keypad, 2 view screens, its own power cell, a bunch of random dials, and 3 on/off switches (dunno why...).
the ship itself only has 2 weapons. Although if you need more, just place a few troops in the troop bay with portable missile launchers and you're all set! :)

Crystal Mining

Now the Lego town has a Reason to exist (because by town standards it would be more like an outpost)! The Reason is that it is a mining operation for a special kind of crystal that absorbs power like a battery. The crystals grow on rocks in the mine (which is why the miners are constantly working). The operation has employed about 8 workers total.

  1. The miners (dwarves) mine the gems and load them into mine carts.
  2. The carts drive to the unloading station where their contents are loaded into a larger train car.
  3. The train car drives to the processing facility and more workers unload it into the processing bins.
  4. After the crystals are processed, they are stored in a storage yard until shipped.

New SWAT tank: The ADV

My newest SNOT (studs-not-on-top) vehicle is the Armored defense Vehicle (ADV)!
It has (to scale) foot thick armor walls covering all but the bottom, and has a total of 6 headlights 4 tail lights, and two sirens
Its roof opens up as you can see in this picture:
Below are some random photos you can use if you want to build your own.

Lego Rulebook

Recently i have been working on a Rulebook for the Legotown. you can find it in PDF format here. I made it becouse some people have had some trouble figuring out how to make money in the town (mostly friends).

Note: Just so you know, the town is pretty much a giant slum where there's lots of crime. That is why the rulebook is the way it is.

Green Grocer

Green Grocer was $149.99. It's the most expensive kit I've purchased. (Above) Green Grocer (in the background is a the Hammertong and a civil war, if you're wondering).
The first floor has a grocery store, and staircases to the second, third, and fourth floors.
The second floor has nothing but a carpet and a fireplace.
The third floor has a radiator and a grandfather clock.
The fourth floor is a deck with a grill and a picnic table

Rating; 10/10!

Legotown Project completed!

The Legotown project has been completed! The new table is big enough to hold almost all the (Built) Legos I have.(Above) The Center island will be Main Street in the town. The rest of the area will be a space port, military staging area, etc.
I plan to start rebuilding the town ASAP.

The Legotown project

I have a new project: Project Legotown! Project Legotown mostly includes making a new project space to build on. It will (hopefully) look like this:(above) done in Google Sketchup
At the moment the building space looks like this:
Note: I will post pictures of how things are coming along when possible.
